Formed in 1989, Rochdale Retirement Choir was a part of Rochdale MBC Music Service for 25 years. From January 2017 it became independent and moved to its new home at St Aidan’s Church Hall, Sudden, Rochdale.
The Choir meets weekly (during Term-time) on Mondays 1.00pm – 2.30pm. Led by Freda Farnworth, the choir sing a wide range of light classics, carols and fun arrangements of well-known songs in four part harmony and regularly perform at charity and educational events. Some music is fairly straightforward and some is quite difficult thus catering for all levels of musical ability.
There are no auditions and new members are always welcome.
